Board Excellence Workshop for All Volunteer Organizations
February 3, 2021 @ 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Maryland Nonprofits’ Board Excellence Workshop is an interactive, virtual program that covers the most important aspects of board operations. Participants will leave with clarity about the roles and responsibilities of the board of directors as a governing body and the role of board members in an organization without staff.
Participants will explore:
- Board conduct and how to develop a well-rounded, effective board of directors
- What it means to be legal and socially accountable
- Principles of sound financial oversight
- The board’s role in fundraising
- The role of the board as “employer”
- Duality of the board members role in an all-volunteer organization: governance & operations
Each participant will receive Maryland Nonprofits’ Board Excellence Handbook (a $25 value), which will be shipped in the mail prior to the course date. Therefore, registration for this program will close on January 25th.
IMPORTANT: When registering, please enter the mailing address that you would like your Board Excellence book(s) to be sent. Books that must be shipped twice due to an incorrect address can be mailed to you for an additional fee of $30.
This is an interactive program. Participants are encouraged to log into the Zoom meeting at 4:20pm 10 minutes prior to the program to ensure a good connection and to greet each other. Participants will be encouraged to keep their cameras on for the duration of the program.
